So how often does everyone do a check and maintenance on their gear. How many of us have actually taken our gear to the field to make sure it works? I was going through some of my stuff the other day and found many items needed batteries and some items I knew I had but couldn't find. I need to do better on keeping up with my gear? What do you all do to make sure you stay on top of your gear?

Mine is all screwed up, I need to take it out less, I try to go shooting every week and I take my bag. I load ammo from my bag just like I would in the field, use tools and such from my bag and it never gets cleaned and sorted just resupplied. I need to start giving it more care.

I do an inventory every month. I check ammo, mags, batteries, ect. Right now I am building a better chest rig and BOB. Spent the past 2 weeks ordering new stuff. Currently I am trying to decide which 3 day pack I want to get.

I switched from a plate carrier to a chest rig. Couldn't move in the damn plate carrier. I love those Condor Kangaroo Pouches they work damn well.

The next thing I am going to work on is a plate carrier. When done right, plate carriers can be comfortable. You have to have the correct size plate for your body. It also helps to spend the extra money on curved plates. I am probably going to order on from AR500 armor.

I check my bags monthly.
I have a vehicle specific bag, a clothing/concealment specific bag, and a main BOB.
The main BOB gets modified quarterly with the changing of the seasons.

I just got a new USMC ILBE Molle pack to replace my Alice pack. I will check and change everything soon. I try to go thru it every 6 months or so.

I haven't really got to makin a BOB but I do have a BOT, Bug out trailer I have been building on. It is a 14x7 trailer with ham gear, scanners, 3 solar panels, 6 golf cart batteries, 40 amp MPPT solar charge controller, and a small wood stove installed. Photo was before i installed the stove. its a work in progress but comming along. I have 5 solar panels and can run em all if I want. Never needed that much at 1 time. I carry 2 6o watt and 1 120 watt panels all the time. I also keep tools, and various gear in it, and a self inflating queen size mattress in it. Might as well be comfortable. I have enough solar to stay in the field indefinitely, and run radios, fans, lights including 2 floods i have setup on magnet mounts so I can place them where I need them. No propane, no generator, full off grid.
