Loaded with 25-28. Keep them ready but not full compression on the spring

Loaded, 28 rounds. I run Magpul P-mags, so I don't worry about it. I have about 30 GI mags that I typically keep 10-15 loaded and I swap them out every month or so just to be sure.

I use Magpul PMAGS predominately, with a few USGI mags thrown in.
I load them fully with 30 rounds.
Springs mainly wear out due to being used, not by remaining compressed. Downloading mags to 28 is usually done to help seat the magazine into the well with the BCG is in battery. I have no problems with seating my mags in my carbine with a closed bolt, so I keep them fully loaded.

if the SHTF do you really think you could load your mags that fast
keep them loaded, the springs wont be hurt in any manner, its an old wives tale
